AI must transform education – Dr. Yaw Adutwum

At a conference organised by the Yonsei University in Accra, Ghana’s Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence in Ghana’s Education system.

Dr. Yaw Adutwum in his remarks mentioned that Artificial Intelligence must play a key role in the transformation of education through the provision of a better learning experience

“Artificial Intelligence and Information Communication and Technology must play a pivotal role in transforming education by providing personalised learning experience tailored to individual student needs”, he said.

He stressed that, AI and ICT tools promotes diversified and interactive teaching and learning experience which will enhance the development and growth of the 21st Century skills such as problem -solving, creativity, innovation and collaboration.

Dr. Adutwum further noted that higher learning institutions are gradually incorporating the use of Artificial Intelligence into academic curriculums to prepare students for the world ahead

“In some Ghanaian Universities, AI is increasingly being integrated into academic curricula to prepare students for the demands of the digital age while aiding research”, he added.

The conference organised by Korea’s Yonsei University was under the theme”AI, ICT, and the Future of Education in Ghana 2024″.
