TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Graduate School will waive application fees for eligible international students during Free Application Week, scheduled for Oct. 6–10.

The university said qualified international applicants can save $80 by using a waiver code provided during the application week. The offer applies only to applications for Fall 2026 admission.
International students are required to have an equivalent 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale as determined by the Graduate School.
Applicants who have already submitted materials and are awaiting payment may enter the waiver code in the application portal by 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, Oct. 10.
According to the university, the Graduate Admissions Office will not automatically apply waivers or issue refunds.
The Free Application Waiver Request Form must be submitted by 5 p.m. CDT on Oct. 10, and both the application and waiver code must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. the same day.
Supporting documents such as transcripts, and statements of purpose are due by Nov. 15 at 11:59 p.m. CDT.
“Each student may use only one waiver, valid for a single program and term. Applicants must use the same email address on both the waiver form and the graduate application,” the university said.
