The global 50th most expensive player (CIES football observer) and attacking midfielder of the Ghana Black Stars, Mohammed Kudus will not feature in the team’s opener game for the 2023 TotalEnegies African Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Cape Verde.
The most pitched player for the game by most Ghanaians is reported to be suffering from a hamstring injury that requires about 21 days off.
As such, in a lineup released by manager of the Black stars for the game slated for 8pm, Chris Hughton, Salisu Mohammed and Antoine Semenyo are in his starting lineup.
Salisu who plays for AS Monaco, will be making his first competitive appearance for the Black Stars since the World Cup game against Uruguay in Qatar.

He will partner Alexander Djiku in central defense, while, Gideon Mensah and Denis Odoi operate as fullbacks.
Baba Iddrisu and Majeed Ashimeru will work in the heart of the pitch. On the wings are Jordan Ayew and Joseph Painstil.
Richard Ofori maintains his place in the post. Antoine Semenyo leads the attack, while Ransford Yeboah Koningsdoffer plays in the hole behind Semenyo.
However, Mohammed Kudus will be fit before Ghana vs Egypt’s game in the group B fixtures.
