Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are electing new executive office holders for their Students’ Representative Council (SRC) today, August 24 2022.
The elections will produce new executives for the President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Secretary and Women’s Commissioner offices.
Below are all the candidates contesting in this years KNUST SRC Elections;
Five persons are running for the office of the president after Obed Awuah Kusi rescinded on his decision to contest in the race. They are Frank Owusu, Richard Kovor, Boniface Owusu Afrifa, Caleb Asare-Rakae.
Comfort Awuah, Baaba Mills for General Secretary.
In the Women’s Commissioner race are Maud Asare, Abigail Yeboah, Gilgal Boateng, Mavis Adobea and Madina Yahaya.
Etse Walter, Yayra Alovor, Jomo Kenyatta and Justice Anane Gyamfi are competing for the office of the financial Secretary.
The election will go on at 22 polling stations across the KNUST campus.
Many eyes are focused on the presidential contest between Frank Owusu, Richard Kovor, Caleb Asare-Bakai, and Yvonne Osei Adobea as many students believe they are the leading candidates in the election.
The Electoral Commission of the Students Representative Council at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on August 23 announced that 22 polling centres will be open during the upcoming SRC elections.

How to cast your Vote
- Place your finger on the biometric verification device to access the voting page
- Proceed to select by clicking SRC EXECUTIVES
- Proceed to select by clicking Presidency and vote for your preferred candidate by clicking on his or her image on the screen
- Click on next and select by clicking on General Secretary and vote for your preferred candidate by clicking on his or her image on the screen
- Follow the same procedure for Financial Secretary and Women’s Commissioner positions.
- Click on Submit My Votes
NB: Make sure you have submitted your votes. There will appear a THANK YOU FOR VOTING notice after successfully submitting your votes.
The EC has announced that voting will start at exactly 8:30 am.
Polls is also expected to close at 4 pm.
