Nana Yaw Yamoah-Tuffour popularly known as Nana Tuffour, a 3rd year Publishing Student in KNUST has hinted on his intention to run for the 2022 TESCON-KNUST presidential election.
This comes after nominations were opened by the Electoral Commission of TESCON-KNUST on the 21st July 2022.
By a release from the outfit of Nana Tuffour, he noted that “the time is ripped for TESCON KNUST to renew its commitments to the NPP to represent and exemplify the values for which TESCON was established”.
“From the torch of unwavering commitment to the cause of the NPP without inducement that was lit by our forebearers created a culture of sacrifice and dedication as the sacred duty of TESCON to the Party”, he said.
He further stated that “Many years down the lane, our energies keep weaning off, our hope keeps fading and our commitment keeps dwindling. Beyond 20 years and more of the existence of TESCON, what does the future hold for the teaming youth in the NPP and for Ghana as a whole?”
He believes that the time is right for TESCON to take up the responsibility in joint forces, through the Youth Wing of the party, with the National Executives Elect to work assiduously to ensure that the NPP maintains power in 2024 in line with the vision ‘Break the Eight’.
Nana Tuffour, as he is affectionately called, is an energetic, affable, and enthusiastic young man with creative ideas in contemporary management, effective communication, and branding and is poised to transform the leadership of TESCON KNUST.
He intimated that breaking the 8-year jinx requires fresh ideas and effective mobilization of the party grassroots, especially in the Universities to re-energize the party’s base.
According to him, he has listened, prayed, consulted widely, and assessed himself and he strongly believes that he has the desired qualities to lead TESCON KNUST.

TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy) is the student wing of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) of Ghana founded on 8 January 2000.
It was inaugurated by the 2nd President of the 4th Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor. Since its formation, TESCON has been one of the most important wing of the NPPs student and political activism and grass-root mobilisation.
