In a reactive statement to the press conference held by Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN-KNUST) yesterday, Thursday 27 January, Nana Yaw Yamoah-Tuffour who is a student and a patriot has noted that the president of TEIN-KNUST, Master Theophilus Berchie owes the student populace an apology.

Nana Tuffour noted that as a responsible student, Master Theophilus Berchie was supposed to implore students to stay calm and not to rally them against the government.
“A prudent student who means well for his colleagues as the TEIN President, Mr. Theophilus Berchie, ought to know that the management of our Education System in Ghana requires very critical attention and not irresponsible Pars. A responsible student must rather call for calm and not panic and despair”, he said.
In his view, he noted that strike action is not always the immediate option due to its attendant challenges and students are usually at the receiving end of such actions.
However, he added that the press conference held by TEIN-KNUST lacked the necessary content, insensitive to the plight student but was aimed to incite and cause despair among students.
“Yesterday’s press conference led by Master Theo Berchie lacked the necessary content, it was divisive in its solutions, wasteful and irresponsibly captured to unnecessary incite students and cause despair, insensitive to the very sensitive issues it sought to address and can only be described as a platform for self-aggrandizement by the TEIN-President”, he stated emphatically.
He added saying “it is a disgrace to the TEIN-KNUST and the NDC as a possible government-in-waiting. Theophilus Berchie must bow in shame and render an unqualified apology to his colleagues students and to TEIN for using their platform for self promotion”.
He, however, urged students to remain calm as government attends to every sectorial need and will responsibly address and place to rest the uneasy impasse with UTAG.
