Financial Secretary of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Tweneboah–Kodua Kelvin, is expected to present the 2022 Budget Statement to CoHSS Parliament, Saturday 12, on behalf of the President Richard Kovor.

Thriller News GH understands that, the budget would dwell on students handiwork, soft skill, trainings, monetization of social media and equipping students with entrepreneurial and skills development.

The budget statement dubbed “Anidaso) Budget” among other things is also expected to capture the pragmatic approach to celebrating CoHSS AT 6 with the major aim of raising funds to construct a 1000 sitter learning area capacity within the college to enhance learning and research.

The Theme for the budget is “Redeeming CoHSS-KNUST to the Core”.

Thriller News GH is reliably informed by a close source that the budget captures the first ever CoHSS app to be introduced by the Richard Kovor-led Administration.

Speaking to the President of the College ahead of the budget presentation, he said;

“The 2021/2022 CoHSS academic year budget dubbed Anidaso) seeks to redeem the student Association and give back hope and freedom to the people. The budget seek to primarily set the welfare needs of students as the bedrock through a flagship project dubbed CoHSS FOOD HOUSE and at a long round provide progressive measures to solving unemployment brouhaha in the country Ghana”.

The  CoHSS Budget presentation scheduled for Saturday 12, 2022 at CCB SFED 14 would be first of its kind and thus touted as historic.

It will go in the history of the college and serves as a milestone for the Richard Kovor-led CoHSS administration to openly release its budget statement of the year.

Over the years of students administration, students are deprived of knowing what the executives use their monies for, this comes down from SRC, College, Faculty and Departments. Student leaders fail to make students aware of how their monies are spent.

As a result, while many students have tagged their leaders as corrupt, others say they are only good in misappropriation of funds.

Last year, the immediate-past SRC financial Secretary, Master Osei-Fosu Solomon briged the gap and published the SRC budget statement for the 2020/2021 academic year. Michael Abuah after assuming office as the SRC President for the 2021/2022 academic year has also published the first semester budget of the SRC.

Consequently, President Richard Kovor popularly known as Dr.K has decided to follow the suit at the College level to ensure there is transparency, accountability in student leadership.

The President,  Dr. K as popularly called by students, after assuming office has been making efforts to strengthen the relationship between students and the executive body and to see how best he can support and partner major stakeholders to bring the desired results to students.

The budget statement is expected to seal his policies and bring desired results to students.
