Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew has been excluded from a 26-man squad named by coach Otto Addo for the team’s World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.
In a press conference on Wednesday 29, 2024, coach Addo revealed that he has engaged the skipper before naming his squad.
“I had a long chat with Andre and gave him the reason why he is not in the squad. I talk to players directly and I don’t like to put information out about what we spoke about.
“This is the decision we took and it’s not like he necessarily agreed, but I still have big respect for him,” Otto Addo said.

The Black Stars of Ghana will be facing Mali on June 6, 2024, at Bamako’s Stade 26 Mars, followed by a home game against Central African Republic on June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
