A private legal practitioner and 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti region , Lawyer Kwabena Boateng has won the party’s parliamentary primary election held on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Lawyer Boateng polled 393 votes out of the total votes cast beating eight others to his glory.
The Ejisu constituency NPP primaries followed the death of the former Member of Parliament of the constituency and deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Kumah on March 7, 2024.
However, the Electoral Commission of Ghana has set aside April 30 to hold a bye-election for the constituency in the bid to get a replacement in the legislature.
As such, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng has a major hurdle ahead of him as he will be contesting the Ejisu seat with other candidates from various political parties.
