The University of Media, Arts and Communication has announced to hold a virtual matriculation ceremony for students admitted in the 2024/2025 academic year.
This year’s virtual matriculation ceremony has been scheduled for Feb. 23.

According to the University, the decision to hold a virtual ceremony is due to the industrial strike action ongoing by the Senior Members Administrative/Professional Staff and Junior Staff.
“All freshmen and women will be required to sign the Matricula after the ceremony. Detailed arrangements for the signing of the Matricula will be communicated in due course,” press release from the university said.
The University of Media, Arts, and Communication is comprised of the National Film and Television Institute, Ghana Institute of Languages, and the Ghana Institute of Journalism after its merger in 2023.
Since 2023, the university has had two intakes: the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years respectively.
According to the university, a number of selected students will be invited to attend the ceremony in-person while the rest of the student body will join online via the university’s Facebook page.
