
The Stallions of Burkina Faso opened their group games with a late strike win over the Almoravids of Mauritania in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory coast.

It took the penalty kick of Bertrand Traore in the death minute of the Burkina Faso against Mauritania game to give the Stallions their first win in the ongoing AFCON tournament.
The game which was keenly played had its tie broken in the death minute after the referee awarded a penalty in the stoppage time to Burkina Faso after Mauritania’s Nouh El Abd fouled Issa Kabore in the 18-yard box of the Mauritania goal area.
The penalty was converted into a goal by Burkina Faso’s Talisman, Bertrand Traore.
The spectacle of the game was with the goalkeeper of the Burkina Faso team who made some vital and key saves which denied the Mauritanians several chances of taking the lead and winning the game.
The match ended in a 1:0 win in favour of the Stallions.
