Ghana’s Ministry of Health has inaugurated a National Health Laboratory Working Group (NHLWG).

According to the Ministry of Health, “the NHLWG is to essentially see to the review and finalization of the National Health Laboratory policy which was formulated in 2013.”

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, the Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu reiterated the critical role of an updated policy in meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the country.
According to the Ministry, the National Health Laboratory policy is to guide the country’s healthcare system and ensure its efficiency and effectiveness.
The acting head of committee, Rev. Prof. Patrick Ferdinand Ayeh-Kumi assured the Health Ministry that “the Committee is dedicated to delivering on its mandate with excellence.”
