Presidential aspirant in this year’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Students Representative Council (KNUST SRC), Joseph Amoateng, has engaged Police Officers at Research Hills Station for tighter security to ensure safety on and off-campus.

According to the SRC Presidential Aspirant who spoke to Thriller News GH, the decision to embark on this campus safety campaign is a result of the worrying statistics of theft cases being recorded on and off-campus.
“I had the privilege of meeting Kwame Boansi, the Chief Inspector of the Research Hills KNUST Police Station. In our conversation, I first commended him for his contribution towards campus security. I also made it clear that students owe the reduction in theft cases and other insecurity activism to their immense efforts and stringent policing. I again urged the Police Officers to tighten off-campus security as there are growing concern of attacks on students”, he said.

Joseph Amoateng also called on the authorities to install CCTV cameras for crime detection, prevention and campus safety.

The Police Inspector, Kwame Boansi acknowledged the excellent move by the SRC Presidential aspirant and expressed gratitude to the university management for not interfering in their mandated duties and further pledged on ensuring safety on and off-campus.
