KNUST Law Faculty Beats UG, Others to win 2022 Baffour Osei Akoto Moot Court Championship

The Faculty of Law of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has academically humiliated the University of Ghana (Legon) Law School in this year’s Baffour Osei Akoto Moot Court Competition.

The competition is annually organized to honour the memory and sacrifices made by the Late Chief Linguist of the Asante Kingdom, Baffour Osei Akoto.

The 2022 edition of the competition was on the theme “Leadership, Gender and Disabilities, Corporate Governance: The way forward after legal education.” which took place on the 24th and 25th February, 2022 at the GIMPA Law School with the KNUST LAW FACULTY emerging as winners.

Martin Waana-ang and Anita Enyonam Dei from the KNUST team represented the applicant in the case and won against the respondent from University of Ghana Law faculty.

The team which won the highest score in the preliminaries consolidated their gains at the finals by beating their opponents and also swept away the best oralist award in the finals as well as the best oralist award for the preliminary rounds, with Anita Enyonam Dei winning the best Orallist in the finals whilst Martin Waana-ang won the best orallist in the preliminary rounds.

Other members who represented the KNUST team as the Applicant and Respondent were Afia Owusua Banahene, Nana Nti Ofori -Debrah, Kenneth Achel, Phewby Benchog Vugu, Samuel Sam, Mathew Charles Yabe and Audrey Issaka.
