KNUST SRC Financial Secretary seeks Parliament’s approval to spend GHC 684,390.00 for first semester programs

The Financial Secretary of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Derek Andy Dadzie, is seeking Parliament’s approval to spend GHC 684,390.00 for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.

The disclosure was contained in the presentation of the first semester budget before the Students Parliamentary Council today.

According to the financial Secretary, the capped amount is to help the SRC meet its expenditure needs for the first semester.

“Mr.Speaker, It is a budget dubbed and popularly tagged as #nyansap) budget because it’ll take a lot of wisdom as always exhibited by your good self and members of parliament to extract the many impact analysis and allocation of the four hundred and eighty-three thousand, three hundred and nighty Ghana cedis budget exclusive of projects”.

“This clearly tells you the focus of the administration has been to moderately spend and cut down programs whilst investing four hundred and one thousand Ghana cedis on long term projects of which the plastic for cash policy, a major project, could internally generate about two hundred thousand in the long term. Implying a two hundred thousand and one Ghana cedis investment cost to the additional four hundred and eighty-three thousand, three hundred and nighty Ghana cedis allocated for programs. A six hundred and eighty-four thousand three and ninety(IGF included) estimated and eight hundred and eighty-four thousand three and ninety(IGF included )”.
