The Students Parliamentary Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has announced that Financial Secretary of the Students Representative Council (KNUST SRC), Derek Dadzie Andy, will present the first semester budget statement for the 2021/2022 academic year on Sunday January 23, 2022.
The budget statement dubbed “Nyansapo Budget” is being touted as one of the most anticipated budget statements in the KNUST SRC history.
Over the years of students administration, students are deprived of knowing what the SRC uses their monies for.
Last year, the immediate-past SRC financial Secretary, Master Osei-Fosu Solomon briged the gap and published the SRC budget statement for the 2020/2021 academic year.
He received praises from students for changing the status quo. Such a bold step gave many students hope to trust the SRC leadership as they got to know how their SRC dues are spent.
Consequently, the Michael Abuah-led SRC has decided to follow the suit to ensure there is transparency, accountability in student leadership.

The SRC Financial Secretary is expected to present the budget before the SRC Parliamentary Council at the IDL Conference Center at exactly 3:00 pm.
The budget among other things is expected to address some specific student issues which have generated attention and also allocate funds for basic developmental projects for the interests of the student body.
