Following a petition submitted by Master Michael Abuah, the most promising aspirant of this year’s KNUST SRC elections to the president of the Students Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST-SRC) over the need to allow students who owe fees to partake in the upcoming Mid-semester examination has yielded positive results.

In the petition, Master Michael Abuah indicated that the Mid-semester examination constitutes a good part of the accumulative records of students and the denial of students of this opportunity will have a negative effect on their academic performance.

That notwithstanding, he indicated the devasting effect of the novel covid-19 pandemic on the economic activities which has affected the livelihood of parents and students and the fact that majority of students who rely on the Student Loan Fund are yet to have their funds disbursed among other reasons.

Ultimately, his petition necessitated crunch talks between the Students Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and management, the two have therefore made amends and an agreement has been reached to allow all students register and write the upcoming mid-semester examination regardless of school fees status.

In an interview with Thriller News Gh, the most hailed student leader noted that he is ever committed to ensure the welfare of students and is focused to ensure that a conducive environment is provided for teaching and learning in the University.
