UPSA set to appoint student volunteers as Covid-19 ambassadors

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) will be appointing some students as Covid-19 Ambassadors in a bid to ensure strict adherence to the safety protocols, A Memo has revealed.

In the Memo dated January 4, 2021, and sighted by Thrillernewsgh.com the tenure of the Covid-19 Ambassadors is one year.

“To complement efforts aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 on campus, Management is seeking to recruit student volunteers as COVID-19 Ambassadors, for a period of one year,” the Memo read.

It is, however, not clear if this appointment is renewable, especially for those who will still be in school after the one year.

The initiative of the school comes barely a week after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the reopening of schools across the country after nearly ten months of closures.

It is expected that: “Each level of a programme will have five (5) volunteers to assist in the fight against the virus.”

The volunteer Covid-19 Ambassadors will perform many duties, including ensuring strict adherence to social distancing and undertaking some advocacy works.
