Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to expand the infrastructure of law and medical schools in Ghana to increase enrollment.
Speaking during his national address at UPSA, Accra on February 7, 2024 to lay bare his plans when elected as president, he said “my government will expand infrastructure at medical schools as well as the Ghana Law School to support an increase in admission for students for medical and legal studies.”

On the size of his administration when elected as president, he assured Ghanaians that he will appoint fewer Ministers under his presidency.
“This represents a major paradigm shift. An efficient system of governance will require even fewer ministers. Therefore I would have no more than 50 ministers and deputy ministers,’’ Bawumia said.

He also revealed that an independent fiscal responsibility council will be set up to reduce budget deficits and interest rates under his Presidency.
‘’To sustainably reduce the budget deficit and interest rates, my government will enhance fiscal discipline through an independent fiscal responsibility council enshrined in the Fiscal Responsibility Act,2018,” he said.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia further stated among other things that he will abolish taxes on electronic financial transaction (e-levy), electricity and emissions.
