The 27th edition of Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games is all set to commence this November as fourteen (14) Universities set to battle at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
The event hosted by KNUST this year and dubbed ‘Nyansagor)’ would be held under the theme, ‘Harnessing sporting talents of students for national development through healthy competition using science and technology’ and will be under the distinguished patronage of Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice Chancellor of KNUST.
The event will take place from 4th to 19th November, 2022.
In all, 14 universities would compete in the Games. They include the host institution Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), University for Development Studies (UDS) and University of Mines and Technology (UMaT).
The rest are University of Professional Studies (UPSA), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Akenten Appiah Menkah University of Skills Training & Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED),
Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business & Integrated Development Studies (SDDUBIDS), and CK Tedam University of Technology & Applied Sciences.
They would compete in disciplines including athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, football, goalball, handball, hockey and tennis.
The host university, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has put together an impressive sports facilities to ensure successful event.
