23 Ghanaian women national team coaches are undergoing a five-day training with instructors from the French Football Federation in Prampram.
The exchange program is made possible through the Ghana Football Association’s longstanding partnership with the French Embassy in Ghana.
Instructors from the French Football Federation are facilitating the training sessions at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
The five-day long event started on Monday and will conclude on Friday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Tuesday June 4, the French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossou, said the embassy is partnering Ghana’s Football Association to train women national team coaches because they have the same vision to develop women’s football.
“So, we, Ghana and France, are very involved, very excited, and very committed to this program, Aniambossou said”. “Today is a key milestone. We brought two coaches from the French Federation to train these coaches and exchange knowledge as well.”
The President of Ghana’s Football, Kurt Okraku, said the training is necessary because they want to align all newly appointed coaches of the recently created national teams.
“I think that today’s programme is very key to the development of female sport. Getting such platforms is the only way to build the sport.” “Getting platforms like this to exchange knowledge and impart our coaches is a key part of our agenda.”

According to Ghana’s Football Association, the training for the coaches is part of a strategic initiative that is designed to revolutionize Women’s football in the country.
