KNUST: Students without Medical Examination Certificates not to be allowed to write mid-semester exams

Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has urged all students especially freshmen to undergo the compulsory medical examination of the university.

According to a notice on February 8, 2024, students would be required to submit certificates of their compulsory medical examination in order to be allowed to write the 2023/2024 academic year midsem exams.

“We wish to remind ALL STUDENTS, who are yet to undergo the MANDATORY MEDICAL EXAMINATION to take immediate steps to do so before the commencement of the Mid Semester Examination,” part of the notice read.

The notice retirated that student’s admission into the university is subject to the University Director of Medical Services deeming students medically fit.

“As you are already aware, your admission into the University is subject to being declared medically fit by the University Director of Medical Services.”

It revealed that as at Feb. 6, only 4,743 students out of a total of 16,028 registered main campus students, have done their medical examination.

As such, students are being urged to partake in the medical examination.

“Students are therefore being urged to undertake the medical examination.

“Since students will be required to present their medical examination certificate for verification before they would be allowed to partake in the Mid Semester Examination of the 2023/2024 Academic Year,” it added.
