
President Akufo-Addo is set to deliver the State of the Nation address to Parliament on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
This annual address, as stipulated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, mandates the President to convey a message on the State of the Nation at the commencement of each session and before the dissolution of Parliament.
Anticipated to outline the government’s key policy objectives for the year, the address will also shed light on the strategies in place to tackle current economic conditions.
The announcement of this forthcoming address was made in Parliament on Tuesday by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.
“Mr. Speaker, in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E the President will deliver to the house a message on the State of the Nation on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Honourable Members are entreated to avail themselves for the task ahead,” Mensah-Bonsu said.
This presentation will mark President Akufo-Addo’s penultimate address to Parliament which offers an opportunity for the President to reflect on the achievements and challenges of the government as well as to outline the trajectory for the nation’s progress in the coming year.
