
The incumbent Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo for the Dome Kwabenya constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has lost the re-election in the just ended NPP Primaries as Mr. Mike Ocquaye Jnr emerged victorious with a margin of 866 votes.
Sarah Adwoa Safo was able to secured 328 votes as against Mike Ocquaye Jnr who polled out with the highest votes of 1,195 with the third contender, Sheila Adoma polling 186 votes.

The total votes cast were 1708, with seven rejected votes, making the total valid votes in the box 1715.
Mike Oquaye Jnr having emerged as the newly elected parliamentary candidate is now expected to help the NPP in the upcoming 2024 general elections to secure the seat for the party and to carry its agenda within the constituency.
Before the election he had an interview on Asempa Radio where he laid down the track record of securing 11 international scholarship for Dome Kwabenya constituents, 68 local scholarships to support students into the university and also secured some youth in the constituency into the police service.
“I did all these when I wasn’t the Minister of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya and I intend to do more if I’m voted for,” Oquaye Jnr said.
“One thing I’m passionate about is health, specifically breast cancer, they say charity begins at home, therefore I will firstly begin from Dome Kwabenya. I will also encourage blood donation, which I have paid and made arrangement for.”
“I have also paid the Regional National Health Insurance Authority to issue the card for health care in the constituency”, he added.
These were among the many promises he made and assured to deliver when he emerges victorious.
