U20 Women’s World Cup: Black princesses beat Teranga lionesses to book qualifications

The Ghana Under-20 Women’s team has booked their place in this year’s FIFA U-20 women’s world cup after securing a convincing 7:1 aggregates scoreline against their Senegalese counterparts on Sunday January 21, 2024.

The black Princesses in their first leg thumped the Teranga Lionesses with a 2:0 victory in Dakar and completed their qualification run with a 5:1 scoreline in Kumasi. The results from Sunday’s game against Senegal automatically placed the Princesses on their journey to Colombia, the host nation for this year’s edition of the FIFA U-20 women’s world cup.

Goals from Salamatu Abdulai,Berline Nyarkoah, Tracy twum,and Maafia Nyame were enough to propel the Black Princesses to join the likes of Morocco, Nigeria and Cameroon to represent Africa at the world cup which will be hosted in Colombia from August 21 to September 22, 2024.

This will be the seventh time Ghana will be participating in the Women’s U-20 World Cup.
