Since the inception of the fourth republican constitution in 1992, political power has always alternated between the the NDC and NPP in Ghana.

This phenomenon, according to spokesperson for the Movement for Change, Courage Nobi has been detrimental to the development of the country.

During a panel discussion on GTV on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Courage Nobi underscored the need for a new force in the Ghanaian political scene.

He stressed that the circumstances faced and experienced by Ghanaians in the last few years cements the reason why the Movement for Change has been campaigning that both the NPP and the NDC have done the country a lot of disservice for the past three decades.

“It goes to cement the view that the Movement for Change has that both parties have done us a disservice”, Mr. Nobi noted.

He further noted the need to change the eight-year political jinx in Ghana.

“The mindset of both political parties of coming back to government even after staying in opposition for eight years needs to be broken. The country cannot afford to perpetuate that while it yearns for a forward movement”, he said.

He, however, likened the economic conditions in 2023 under the NPP to 2015 and 2016 when the NDC was in office.

Spokesperson for the Movement of Change, Mr. Courage Nobi has likened the 2023 festive season to that of 2015 and 2016 festive seasons.

He said that the situations that hanged around the necks of Ghanaians during those periods denied them their usual and normal routines of Christmas enjoyment.

“I think this year’s festive season is very close and similar to that of 2015 and 2016. It was the same circumstance. The difficulty was so palpable that people could not do the usual neighborliness”, he said.
