Sing-A -Thon attempt: Asantewaa deserves to be honored- Kofi Aduonum

Sports journalist, Kofi Aduonum who happens to be the husband of Afua Asantewaa has made a personal appeal to the Ghana Tourism Ministry.

According to Aduonum, it’s high time his wife Asantewaa is honored for the attempt made to break the world record.

Aduonum the husband in an interview with Joy Prime couldn’t hide his excitement on how far his wife has come and how much she has become an inspiration to young people and also elevating Ghana on the map of Africa and the world at large.

Aduonum made this personal appeal to Ghana Tourism Ministry to consider protecting the history made by creating a monument or name the “Akwaaba Park” after Asantewaa.

“Akwaaba Village is a perfect name but it’s high time they honor my wife, Asantewaa, they should give her a space, Asantewaa’ Corner, Asantewaa’s Stage,” Aduonum said.

According to him this will live for generations to remember and it will also serve as a site for tourism.

Asantewaa a mother of three and a wife made an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Song A- Thon.

According to the organisers, Ms Asantewaa performed for 126 hours and 52 minutes. According to the rules set by Guinness World Records she was allowed a five-minute break every hour, or 20 minutes after four hours.

The record which was set by Sunil Waghmare from India for 105-hours.
