
A level 300 student of Bachelor of Arts in Development Education of the University of Development Studies(UDS), Issah Abdul Manan has been elected as the local president of the National Union of Ghana Students of the University of Development Studies (UDS-LNUGS)
The ardent student advocate, influencer and politician convincingly lead the LNUGS presidential race with 54.39% over his opponents Nana Kofi Anpong and Iddrisu M. Tawfiq who came through with 29.96% and 14.50% respectively.

M.I as he is affectionately called has been active in seeking reforms and better conditions aimed at the betterment of the plight of the student body.
Speaking to Thriller News Gh after the declaration of the results on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Master Issah Abdul Manan disclosed that he was optimistic of victory even before the elections were held.
“I crafted the right message with viable policies to the student body and the reception of my message was massive which translates to today’s victory. Even before this election, I was confident that even if the election was held earlier before this day, I was going to win”,he stated.
“This is the time for NUGS-UDS to work again. I will not take my victory and the confidence of the student body in me for granted. I am going to make sure that I deliver on the mandate and policies based on which I was voted for. I have a people to serve and I am ready to bring the new phase of leadership which the student body anticipate”, he added.

He, however, expressed his gratitude to students of the university for entrusting him to be the next NUGS president of the university.
Whiles associating his victory to Allah, he called on his opponents, the student and the newly elected executives to support him to collectively transform the student union.
