
The Bole District Community Foundation (BDCF) and the Community Development Students’ Assocation of Ghana at the University of Business and Development Studies (CODSAG-UBIDS) has donated stationery materials to some less endowed schools in the bole district of the Savannah region.
The kind gesture forms part of the committed collaboration of BDCF and CODSAG-UBIDS to promote access to basic social amenities, educational materials and the welfare of the less privilege in northern Ghana.
The donation comprised of about 200 different subject textbooks for primary 1 to 6 of the new GES basic school syllabus to some selected schools in the Bole district on Monday, 5th June, 2023.
The communities which benefited from the project included Kebilma, Dakurupe and the Bole E/A primary school.

The programs officer for the Bole District Community Foundation, Sulemana Mumuni Watara revealed that the foundation is committed to complement government’s efforts in community development.

“Education is one of the powerful tools for social empowerment and national development. We have impacted communities and individuals in diverse ways but we again believe that when we channel our efforts into education as well, we may not only be impacting lives today but we will also be building a strong force for the future.
The central government has the responsibility to ensure the socio-economic development of the country but as stakeholders in our various communities we can also contribute to augment the efforts of government when it comes to development “, he was empathetic.

The president of CODSAG-UBIDS, Alhassan Abass reiterated the commitment of the association to assist in the provision of educational materials to students of less privileged communities.
“Donating to communities has become a hallmark of our association over the past years. This exercise which forms part of our corporate social responsibility as an association to communities in the upper west region but we have now extended to the Savannah region and I pray that just as I have come to continue what my predecessors have done, I hope that it continues so that more lives could be imparted in various communities in Ghana”, he said.
