Following the indefinite suspension of the four worker unions in the public universities strike action, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has resolved to hold a separate virtual graduation ceremony for the 2021/2022 undergraduate students who completed their programmes of study in September this year.
The virtual graduation ceremony for the 2022 undergraduate graduands is scheduled for Tuesday, 14th- Saturday, 18th March, 2023.
According to a notice by the university, in-person graduation ceremony will be held for postgraduate (Masters & PhD) students from 17th-18th March, 2023.
“Graduands who completed their programmes of study in September, 2022 should pay GHC 360.00 CASH at any of the following banks; ECOBANK, GCB, UBA, STANBIC, CALBANK, STANDARD CHARTERED BANK, REPUBLIC BANK, ABSA BANK, and CBG”, the notice said.
The graduation fee covers Congregation Publications, Graduation Medals, Certificate Holders, University Souvenirs, and Administrative Costs.
Graduands are required to provide the following information at the Bank:
- Name
- Programme of Study
- Examination Index Number
- Student ID Number
- Contact Address
- Telephone/ Cell phone Number
- Email Address

Students who wish to be presented for the virtual ceremony will be required to upload a decent portrait picture (formal/traditional wear) using the students’ portal (apps.knust.edu.gh/students). The deadline for picture upload is Sunday, 15th January, 2023.
Collection of Certificates
Graduates are to collect their Certificates and Souvenir from their respective college (IDL and SGS included) between Monday, 20th March 2023 to Friday, 31st March 2023.
Those who are unable to collect their Certificates and Souvenirs during this period should pick theirs from the Examinations Office (Casely Hayford Building) from Monday, 3rd April, 2023.
The University would mount photo booths from Monday 20th March to Friday 31st March, 2023 for interested graduates to take their Graduation Photographs.
