The Financial Secretary of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumab University of Science and Technology , Derek Andy Dadzie, has announced that the SRC will introduce “Freshers Quiz” as part of the annual Freshers Week Celebration.
He disclosed this during his presentation of the first semester budget of the KNUST SRC for the 2021/2022 academic year.
Freshers Week Celebration is an annual event to welcome freshmen into the University. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it hasn’t been organized for the past two years.
This year the SRC has announced to organize the freshers week to engage the newly admitted students of the University.
The new touch to the celebration is the introduction of the ‘Freshers Quiz’.
“KNUST engage in a lot of inter-university quizzes or competition, therefore to be on top of the game always we need to identify the bright and smart students early and frequently train them for future competitions. During the fresher’s week or fair, an inter-hall, colleges quiz competition will be held with the first years as contestants, the team that will emerge as winners or contestants that will show immense dedication during the quiz will be selected and trained further for the various inter-university competitions that will be held during the academic year”, Master Andy Dadzie Derek said.
