Hafiz Toyyib has been elected as the new President of the National Union of Ghana Students, KNUST Chapter.
He beat his contender, Rabiatu Siaka in Monday’s presidential run-off as all candidates in the race failed to secure the 50% plus 1 vote requirement.
In first round of the race, Hafiz Toyyib and Rabiatu Issaka both garnered 19 votes representing 50%.
Hafiz fought back in the second round and secured 20 votes representing 51.28%
He defeated Rabiatu Issaka in a fiercely contested race.
Other winners
Anastasia Abokuma Ansah has been elected as the General Secretary of the National Union of Ghana Students, KNUST Chapter.
He beat his two contenders, 19 votes representing 50%.
Abeyie Sarpong Kingsley was also elected as the Treasure.
