Undergraduate students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), will commence their end of semester examinations for the 2020/2021 academic year on September 1, 2021.

The examination was earlier scheduled to commence on Monday, August 9, 2021 but was postponed after the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) declared a nationwide strike on August 2.

The decision to embark on an industrial strike, according to the executives of UTAG, was borne out of the government’s refusal to heed to calls by the Association to improve the worsening conditions of service of the university teachers.

It said the Association was not happy at the way the authorities had been dragging their feet on negotiations concerning the welfare of the teachers.

Following the suspension of the two-week-old UTAG strike, Authorities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in a notice to students has announced that end of semester examination will commence on September 1, 2021.
