Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) will elect new executive office holders for their Students’ Representative Council (SRC) tomorrow, August 5.

The Electoral Commission of the KNUST SRC is under the chairmanship of Mr. Obeng Emmanuel Awuah Gyimah.

The elections will produce new executives for the President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Secretary and Women’s Commissioner offices.

Below are all candidates contesting in this years KNUST SRC Elections;

Five persons are running for the office of the president. They are Michael Abuah, DSK Acquaah Jnr, Frank Owusu, Prince Adjei Ackah, and Kevin Abban.

Catherine Osei, Benedicta Tiwaa Amankwah, Emmanuella Bessa Simons, Comfort Awuah for Secretary.

Dadzie Andy Derek, Solomon Coffie are contesting for the Financial Secretary office.

In the Women’s Commissioner race are Scholastica Yeboah and Delali Setugah Forgive.

Candidates for 2021 KNUST SRC Elections

The election will go on at 12 polling stations across the KNUST campus.

Many eyes are focused on the presidential contest between Michael Abuah, DSK Acquaah Jnr, Frank Owusu, and Kevin Abban as students believe they are the leading candidates in the election.

The Electoral Commission of the Students Representative Council at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) yesterday, August 3 announced that 12 polling centres will be open during the upcoming SRC elections.

The final list of polling centres comes after the display of aspirants which saw the disqualification of one Presidential candidate, Jude Sabutey.

  2. Casely Hayford
  3. Engineering Auditorium
  4. NATSU Foyer
  5. Architecture
  6. Pharmacy New Block, First Floor
  7. College of Science Auditorium
  8. Prempeh Library
  9. Carrera
  10. Law Faculty
  11. KATH ICT Lab
  12. Obuasi Campus

How to cast your Vote

  1. Place your finger on the biometric verification device to access the voting page
  2. Proceed to select by clicking SRC EXECUTIVES
  3. Proceed to select by clicking Presidency and vote for your preferred candidate by clicking on his or her image on the screen
  4. Click on next and select by clicking on General Secretary and vote for your preferred candidate by clicking on his or her image on the screen
  5. Follow the same procedure for Financial Secretary and Women’s Commissioner positions.
  6. Click on Submit My Votes

NB: Make sure you have submitted your votes. There will appear a THANK YOU FOR VOTING notice after successfully submitting your votes.

Polls is expected to close at 5 pm.

Declaration of results will be done by the SRC EC after end of polls via the University’s official radio station Focus Fm.
