A 3rd year student at the law faculty of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is challenging the eligibility of DSK Acquaah Jnr to stand for 2021 SRC elections in his bid to ultimately win the SRC Presidential seat.
The student identified as Samuel Sam is praying to the Judicial Council of the KNUST SRC to disqualify DSK Acquaah Jnr from contesting in the SRC election scheduled for Thursday, August 5.
According to the Plaintiff, DSK Acquaah Jnr hasn’t gone through the vetting process as mandated by the SRC Constitution and therefore not eligible to contest in the Presidential race.
Thriller News GH is reliably informed that DSK Acquaah Jnr has been served with a legal notice.
According to a statement signed by the SRC Judicial Chairperson, Addo-Grand Nana Cleverland, Court hearing is slated for Wednesday August 4, 2021 at the Law Faculty Conference room.
The hearing will take place at exactly 6: 00 pm.
Background
Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, suspended all Students Representative Council (SRC) election-related activities on 4th July, 2021.
This follows a violent clash between members of the University Hall [Katanga] and Unity Hall [Conti] on Sunday during the vetting of SRC aspirants.
The students, during the violence destroyed among other things, chairs, glasses, and flower pots at the University’s Great Hall.
As a result of management decision to put the vetting process on hold following the clash, DSK Acquaah Jnr couldn’t pass through the vetting process.

Then they should disqualify all those who weren’t vetted and I also think the vetting should be done again and vetting questions should be changed because one of the aspirants answered every question accordingly which is weird
As students we should preach against corruption but we are doing the most. Then what are they going to do when they are vying for national positions
God bless you
If it wasn’t what happened,he would have gone through the vetting process but because of what happened there everything under SRC was banned so how is the person expecting DSK to go through the vetting process…Since the voting is Thursday he can be vetted any day before that but if he’s been disqualified then that will be a total cheat…..Thank you
God will punish you for saying DSK didn’t go through the vetting process so he should be disqualify
.😏😏
Hmm ,it’s even good that they didn’t continued the vetting ,because it could have lead to another mess and damage to life and properties. DSk is qualified to be part of the upcoming poll on 5th August .
All that our brother( Samuel Sam) wants is for the SRC E.C to work within the framework of the constitution which stipulates clearly the procedures involved in Electing new students leaders …..::::🤔🤔🤔🤔
🤍I think it’s a bold step that our brother took …….. so let’s waits for the Judiciary to determine the constitutionality of of the situation………:..
……..KNUST will still endure as the best 🤍❤️
