KNUST: Michael Abuah pays courtesy call on Oforikrom MCE; commits to improving security and accommodation issues for students

The leading KNUST SRC Presidential candidate for this year’s SRC election, Michael Abuah, on Monday, June 29, 2021, paid a working visit to the Oforikrom MCE, Honourable Gloria Temmah Gambrah.

According to a statement released by Michael Abuah’s communication bureau, The visit was “in line with Michael Abuah’s vision of improving security situation around campus when elected SRC President through the support from the Office of Dean of students and other leaders of the University to ensure safety of all students, most especially students residing in areas like Ayeduase, Kotei, Bomso, Kentinkrono and Ahinsan”.

The potential SRC President complained about some security issues within and around the university which includes robbery attacks, attempted rape etc and asked the MCE to intervene.

The Oforikrom MCE assured Michael Abuah and his team of her commitment to enhancing the security and safety of students, on and off-campus.

Michael Abuah also raised concerns to the recent floods in areas around campus due to dilapidated roads and poor drainage.

The Oforikrom MCE, Honourable Gloria Temmah Gambrah on her part pledged her unflinching support to Team Michael Abuah to ensure that security issues on and off-campus is curtailed.

In furtherance, Michael Abuah together with his team and the Oforikrom MCE has held further discussions around the possible solutions to address accommodation challenges and security via a zoom meeting.
