Master ISSAH ZAKARIAH,a level 200 student reading Media and Communication Studies, a member of the GLASA Publicity Committee and a Presidential aspirant of the Ghanaian Language Students Association(GLASA) under the Department of Language and Communication Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has petitioned the welfare committee of the department over the issuance of souvenirs to students in the department.
In a statement sighted by Thrillernewgh.com, master ISSAH ZAKARIAH stated that some students of the department couldn’t purchase souvenirs procured by the department to its students due to financial difficulties.
“It is obvious that the financial capabilities of students who care for themselves and parents have been affected considering the impact of the pandemic. As a result some students and members of the Ghanaian Language Students Association (GLASA) under the Department of Language and Communication Sciences most especially level 100s have not been able to acquire souvenirs procured by the department for the student body due to financial difficulties but are ready to purchase them on credit”, a part of the statement stated.
He has therefore requested the welfare committee of GLASA to look into the matter and provide interested students with the souvenirs on credit on condition to pay back the next academic semester.
The petition has been received by Christiana Adwoa Krah(Miss) who is the mentorship coordinator and personal assistant to the president of the department on behalf of the welfare chairperson and has assured him that the executive board shall delibrate on it and the necessary steps will be taken in due course.
