
The Students Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has hinted on negotiations with management over increment in internet data provision for students as the SRC celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
As planned, The launch of the KNUST SRC 60th Anniversary celebration took place today Saturday, 13th March 2021.

The much anticipated 60th anniversary launch was originally scheduled to take place at the Royal parade grounds but was later changed to Kumaplay Auditorium.
Addressing students at the Launch, The SRC PRO, Master Charles Tengan Lwanga revealed that the monthly Vodafone Bundle package given to students will be increased from 2gb to 5gb.

Speaking to Thriller News GH, the SRC PRO further explained that negotiations are still ongoing with management and he is hopeful that an agreement will be reached with management for an increment of the data package.
“Upon successful agreement with Management, students will now be provided with free 5GB of data monthly instead of the 2GB. The increment of the data package to students is part of the Students Representative Council’s efforts to remove barriers that will hinder effective academic activities online, he added”.
Meanwhile, The SRC has signed memorandum with Universities abroad to promote cross cultural education.

The SRC has also announced the organization of seminars, debate and intercollegiate quiz competitions as part of the SRC 60th anniversary celebration.
