First Lady of the republic of Ghana, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has stated that women have more capacity to make a positive difference in our communities.
As a result, Her Excellency wants females to question any opinion, action, norm and practice which contravene that position.
She made this known as the world celebrates the International Women’s Day today, March 8, 2021.
International Women’s Day (IWD)
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
The day, marked on March 8 every year, intends to call for action in as much as accelerating women’s equality is concerned.
IWD occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.
The campaign theme for this year’s celebration is “Choose to Challenge”. The International Women’s Day community believes that a “challenged world is an alert world, and from challenge comes change”.
