KNUST Interim SRC warns students against securing accommodation through third parties

The Interim Students Representative Council (ISRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has warned students to be wary of individuals purporting to be members of the SRC welfare committee capable of securing accommodation for freshmen in the halls of residence.

In a statement signed by the Interim Public Relations Officer, Frank Toko Oduro, there are persons who are parading themselves as members of the SRC Welfare committee capable of securing accommodation for students.

“Our attention has been drawn to a message  circulating on social media from some individuals purporting to be members of the SRC welfare committee capable of securing accommodation for freshmen in the halls of residence.

“We entreat all freshmen to disregard this message as it is false. The interim SRC wishes to state on record that, it has no functional welfare committee, neither has it tasked anyone to assist students on accommodation related issues, part of the statement read.”

The SRC, further, warned that “parents or students who attempt to secure accommodation through third parties do so at their own risk.
