“We’d have a new crop of well-trained decision makers in the transport sector who will be able to evaluate schemes and give us value for money, they should be able understand how transport contribute to the economy and GDP and they should be able to access impact of transport on the environment,” Prof Adams stated.

Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Geo-Engineering, Prof Geoffrey Anornu on his part noted the centre’s vision is in line with the University’s goal to become the leader in science and technology education.

The new course, Leadership Development in the Transport Industry in Africa became crucial after a UKaid-funded study identified the need to train the next generation of leaders through graduate programmes, professional short courses and applied research.
