Management of the Ghana University Staff Superannuation Scheme Hostels (GUSSS) in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has cautioned students who wish to secure accommodation at any of their hostels to be wary of fraudsters spreading fraudulent bank account numbers.

The management in a letter said its attention has been drawn to the activities of some criminals who are parading themselves as agents capable of securing accommodation for students.

The letter signed by the University Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe indicated that the anonymous criminals “are spreading fake account number, (GUSS LIMITED, Ecobank-1441002313279) on social media and are asking prospective clients to pay money into the said account.”

The letter further advised students and parents of KNUST who attempt to secure GUSSS Hostels accommodation through third parties to be careful, adding that they do “so at their own risk.”

Students are therefore advised to contact the 0322497726 for inquiries.

Meanwhile, application for accommodation into the GUSSS Hostels for the 2020/2021 academic year has been closed after it was opened on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
