A close study partner of the University of Ghana student who was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus has tested negative for the virus, this is according to the Acting Director of the University Health Services, Dr. Mark Frempong.
The infected student had returned to Ghana from an international trip.
The University says that its Emergency Response Team, which was formed to help the University fight the spread of the virus, has linked up with the national contact tracing team to enhance efforts.
Meanwhile, to ensure the safety of students and staff, University authorities have suspended lectures until further notice.
Non-residential students of the University have been asked to keep away from the campus.
The University Basic Schools and the Baby Nest Creche, which are located on the Legon campus, have also been closed down until further notice.
