Radio presenter and fashionista, Kofi Okyere Darko popularly known as KOD, has applauded gospel musician, Joe Mettle, for his support towards his upcoming “Rhythms on Da Runway” show slated for Saturday, August 31, this year.
Speaking on Accra – Based Hitz FM on Thursday, August 29, KOD disclosed that Joe Mettle, who is billed to perform on the show, called him to talk about the event and immediately after the conversation, he received a cash alert on his phone from the Gospel musician.
The gesture, he said, was unexpected, adding that he has never seen anything like that before.
“I just fell flat on the floor, after seeing the message as I’ve never seen something of that sort before. God bless him,” he said.
The radio presenter noted that he funds 80 per cent of the show from his own pocket, bemoaning difficulty in getting sponsorship from the corporate world in Ghana.
“Getting sponsorship here in Ghana is no longer a joke. I am funding 80 per cent of Rhythms On Da Runway. I have not had one sponsor who is giving me 15,000 Ghana Cedis”, he said.
Rhythms on Da Runway is a fashion show which comes off annually and this year’s event is slated for Saturday, August 31, 2019, in Accra.
