Managers of the inevitable leading telecommunication in the country, MTN-Ghana, has put joy on several mobile money subscribers in Tamale.
The unrestricted offer was part of the telecommunication 10th anniversary, for the fast budding money transaction known by the Ghanaian public as ‘MoMo’.
Ibrahim Nurudeen of Atinka Tv/fm told Thrillernewsgh.com that participants including traders, drivers, students and persons who uses MTN mobile money were made to write their contacts on a piece of paper for onward selection.
He said during the mobile money @10 launch at the Tamale taxi rank, the papers were hand picked randomly in the full glare of a cheerful crown, and each lucky winner received two hundred Ghana cedis(Ghc250.00) through their mobile money account.
According to him, about forty (40) of the participants had the opportunity to benefit from the jackpot.
The lucky winners, according to the reporter thanked the telecommunication giants, and urged the public to use ‘momo’ for their daily transactions. To them MTN mobile money should be considered as household banks, due to its convenience.
Meanwhile, the Tamale Divisional commander, Chief Superintendent Dr, Zoika Dinam Kwasi Wisdom addressing the gathering advised mobile money subscribers to be weary of ‘mogus’.
He charged MTN mobile money subscribers to make their pin numbers difficult for scammers (mogus), to detect.
He indicated that subscribers should always check for a message, after any transactions.
Supt. Zoika further wished MTN-Ghana best of luck in the 10th anniversary.
