Born three years before Ghana gained independence, the Emmanuel Ntows marked their 70th birthday on January 3, 2024.
The three septuagenarians with the same surname, Ntow, and initial name, Emmanuel were born on on January 3, 1954.
Emmanuel Sampson Ntow is the oldest of the group. Emmanuel Kwesi Ntow, a retired tailor, came next, and Emmanuel Ntow, a retired chicken farmer, was the youngest.
With the exception of the oldest, Emmanuel Sampson, who uses a walking stick, the three appeared on Accra-based Onua TV in good health and physical condition.
When asked about about how they have grown together over the years, Sampson said “it is by Grace, our father handed us over to God, so we knew Christ from the beginning. It has been God shepherding us through this life,”
“We loved each other, we fought in the house but when we go out, tempt us and see,” Kwesi Ntow added about their relationship in an interview.
They identified the eldest as Apanyin, the second as Adantem, and the youngest as Mensah.
Adantem narrated how he was often the starting point of their battles against shared foes. He emphasized that Apanyin constantly disciplined them both in terms of internal conflict.
When asked what factors contributed to their longevity, they all attributed that to their Christian upbringing. They added that strict adherence to religious prohibitions on alcohol and other divine commands, and their love for one another were the main causes.
