9,556 candidates representing 47.4% of 20,181 prospective teachers who sat for the 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) are reported to have failed.
According to a release dated 20th December, 2023 by the National Teaching Council (NTC), even though the official results are set to be released on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 but the council anticipates that only 10,625 representing 52.6% will successfully pass the examinations.
The council also noted that the results will be posted on its website where candidates will be able to access their individual results using their unique examination pins.
The examination typically covers various subjects and pedagogical skills necessary for effective teaching. Passing the GTLE is a prerequisite for teachers to obtain their professional licenses and to secure teaching positions within the country.
