Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has ordered its SRC President, Michael Adofo Abuah and Speaker of the SRC, Andrew Anokye Kyeremanteng to refund an amount of GHC 6,710.00 each by August 8 without fail.
This follows a petition submitted to the management of the University by a group of students over an alleged misconduct by the SRC President and Speaker respectively.

The duo have been accused of misappropriation of students funds over their failure to go on a trip they were given money for.
According to a statement released and signed by the University’s Relations Officer, Dr. Norris Bekoe, on Friday August 5, after thorough investigations, it has been established that the student leaders did not embark on the trip.
“After thoroughly examining evidence and statements from the student leaders themselves, it was established that the SRC President and the Speaker of Parliament did not embark on the said trip; however, some monies had been spent on statutory processes which the Internal Auditor considers permissible. The Audit team further observed that the SRC President, the Financial Secretary and the Speaker did not seek approval from the Directorate of Students Affairs to spend the monies received, for other purposes”, the statement said.
The university management has therefore ordered the SRC President, Michael Adofo Abuah and Speaker, Andrew Anokye Kyeremanteng to refund an amount of
GH©6,710.00 each by close of day Monday, the 8′ of August 2022, without fail.
According to the statement by the University, the SRC President, the Speaker and the Financial Secretary have also been referred for disciplinary action.
