University of Ghana students who declared their intention to run for various positions of the Students Representative Council for the 2020/2021 academic year are in pain as efforts they invested in their bid to lead the students front of the University have gone waste.

Following the inability of the current SRC administration, led by Isaac Agyemang to conduct an election following the interruption of school activities because of the outbreak of the coronavirus, Speaker of the SRC General Assembly, Emmanuel Owusu Ampem, declared that they were invoking Article 25 of the SRC constitution.

The Article, allows for the appointment of interim SRC leaders when it envisaged that it is impracticable to hold elections in a particular academic year.

General Secretary aspirant, Nervisa Oteng-Ababio, who is among those with campaign posters at almost every part of campus, is unhappy with her input going waste.
