The Asantehene, Otumfoc Osei Tutu II, Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology meets members of the two popular halls, University and Unity hall popularly known as Katanga and Conti after a wonderful graduation ceremony at the Great Hall-KNUST.

The Chancellor addressed the conversion of the male halls into mixed hall issue, he was clear on the fact that, the issue is still being looked at and the grievances of students remains priority. He stated that, he has not forgotten about the issue but working assiduously on the matter so members of the halls should relax because it takes time.

He proceeded on the fact that efforts have been made to meet the alumni for both halls and the university council to see the way forward.

He also encouraged members of Katanga and Conti to take their studies serious and that they shouldn’t let this(mix hall issue) affect their studies in any ways. Also, they shouldn’t let anyone influence or push them to do something that they are not ready to do. “I am a father and i’m always there for you”, He said.

The Chancellor made it clear that, whether the two halls(University and Unity hall) remain mixed or single should be left to him to handle. All he advise students to do is to take their studies serious.

As a father, he clearly stated he condemns violence and will not support bad practices. Students were advised to comport themselves in all situations and also be law abiding.
